William Weiss, M.D., M.Sc., FRCSC, is an assistant professor in the department of orthopaedic surgery and rehabilitation at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) El Paso. Dr. Weiss specializes in the treatment of orthopaedic conditions and sports injuries. Dr. Weiss has authored chapters in both nationally and internationally published orthopaedic textbooks. He is member of numerous orthopaedic, sports medicine, cartilage repair, and foot & ankle associations, and serves as a committee member for both the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the Canadian Orthopaedic Association. He also serves as an editor and reviewer for prominent orthopaedic, sports medicine, and foot & ankle journals, and has published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts.
Dr. Weiss completed fellowship training in sports medicine at Plano Orthopaedics and Sports medicine & arthroscopy at the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, and foot and ankle surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He attended medical school at Queens University School of Medicine in Canada, and completed residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Weiss is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC) and is certified in orthopaedic surgery.
